About This Space
This space was created in January 2026 by me, Lise Fiola, owner of Awkward Moments and Lise Fiola Creations.
I’m a late-diagnosed autistic woman, and I couldn’t find many places online that actually felt comfortable to be autistic in — not just included, but fundamentally designed with autistic ways of being in mind.
This is a neurodiversity-affirming space for autistic people to connect in our own autistic way.
That means communication here can be direct, literal, honest, minimal or expansive, structured or meandering.
You can participate as much or as little as you want, when you want, how you want.
Sometimes that looks like:
-
long info dumps and falling down rabbit holes
-
single-sentence thoughts
-
replying immediately or replying weeks or months later
All of that is welcome.
There is no obligation to:
-
keep up with conversations
-
respond on a timeline
-
set up meetings
-
perform friendliness
-
follow allistic social norms
Lurking is allowed. Silence is allowed. Taking breaks is allowed.
This isn’t a networking space. It isn’t a productivity space. It isn’t a place to “practice social skills.”
It’s simply a place to exist, think, share, and connect — autistically.
If that sounds like your kind of corner of the internet, you’re very welcome here.
